Dr. Ruchman, a board-certified, fellowship-trained ophthalmic plasticsurgeon, is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Williams College. Aftergraduating Magna Cum Laude, Dr. Ruchman received his medical degree from Yale University in 1976. He completed his residency and fellowship in Ophthalmic Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital inPhiladelphia.
Dr. Ruchman was one of the original investigators in New England for theuse of Botox in the treatment of Facial Dystonias including:blepharospasm, hemifacialspasm, and Meige’s Syndrome
Since 1985, he has served as the Medical Director to the Connecticut Blepharospasm Support Group.
Dr. Ruchman is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons, AmericanSociety of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgeons and theAmerican Academy of Ophthalmology. Dr. Ruchman specializes in Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and has written and lectured extensively on various areas of ophthalmology.
Dr. Ruchman was presented the Honor Award by the American Academy ofOphthalmology. His hospital affiliations include both Waterbury and St.Mary’s Hospitals.
